Title
Reinhold Wilhelm von Pohlmann’s gun with coat of arms
Description
Handle of a gun owned by Jägermeister and Lieutenant General Reinhold Wilhelm von Pohlmann (Romanovich von Polman). Depicts a man standing next to the family coat of arms.
18th century (presumably the 1750s to 1790s) in Reval (Tallinn), Estonia.
The gun features an interesting rendition of the family coat of arms with two notable errors: it includes a shield holder and the shield itself is set against a purple background instead of the traditional gold.
