Polmanarkivet is an independent, member-funded project. We rely on the generosity of our community to keep this history alive and free for everyone to read.

Your contribution directly funds:

  • Acquisition: Purchasing original 17th-century documents and artefacts.
  • Conservation: Archival-grade storage and digitisation.
  • Translation: Deciphering handwritten court records and military rolls.
  • Access: Keeping our servers running and our articles open to the public.

You can support us with a one-off donation in any amount, whether it is $5 to preserve a single page of history or $500 to fund a major translation project.

Stewardship Recognition

For patrons who make a single contribution of $50 or more, we are honoured to grant you the title of Steward of the Archive for one year.

This is the perfect option for those who wish to support our mission significantly but prefer a one-time gift over a recurring subscription.

As a one-time Steward, you receive:

  • Full Status: You will be manually upgraded to the "Steward" tier for 12 months, granting you voting rights on research topics.
  • State of the Archive: You will receive an exclusive 'State of the Archive' digital letter from the founder, detailing the year's achievements.
  • Enduring Thanks: Your name (or nickname) will be listed in our published Annual Review as a key supporter of the project.

Consider donating items or objects for the collection. We might be able to accept smaller physical objects. For physical objects meant for permanent display, we can make recommendations for your donation.
